Matt Wyatt started playing drums at age 10, journaling and writing poems a few years later, and making recordings on four track cassette in his late teens. He has an affinity for deep grooves, catchy hooks, field recording, found sounds, poetry, Japanese tea, mountains, and bicycles. Wyatt has toured and performed with many bands including David Wax Museum, Night Teacher, Os Magrelos, Beleza, and Old School Freight Train over his 25 year career as a musician. He has been commissioned to compose recorded work for dance, film, and soundscape architecture. Wyatt self-released a book of poems in 2005 and an album of musical sketches called “Boom and Bloom” on WarHen Records in 2020. He works out of his studio Tree & Booms in Charlottesville, VA.
